Here Be Dragons
Good Luck Dragons
Good Luck Dragons are comical characters who spring to life under my paint brush.
Not only are they fun to paint, but they make everyone smile. It all began when a visitor to the gardens brought one as a gift for me. The way it made me smile and feel was a sure indication I had to make some for sale in the gift shop. As a result, we now have Good Luck dragons with fanciful stories which serve absolutely no purpose as the following poem will attest. $15 per Good Luck Dragon |
This Dragon has not one excuse.
It doesn't even have a use! It has no purpose but to cheer Someone I hold very dear. |
Ontario's First Dragon Sanctuary
Hear the word "Dragon," and each of us is able to conjure up an image of a dragon.
How can this be, unless they are "real" on some level of consciousness???
For those of us who believe in the power of Dragon Energy, it was time to create a sanctuary
for the rebirth of Dragon Magic in this world. Dragon Energy is the power of transformation ...
trial by fire tempered with the gentleness of love .
It is the energy to follow your dreams and the strength to bring those dreams into the physical.
Our Dragon Sanctuary is a place where Spirit Dragons of every kind can find refuge.
The large paper mache dragon, named Dhubri, came to us from India where he was tired of the heat of the valley where he lived. The porcelain twins, Ruff and Tuff were brought to Canada from Albania by way of a tourist. The little guy emerging from his shell, was shipped in a crate all the way from the UK. And the smallest and most colourful dragon was brought to us by a friend who found her in a shop in Stratford.
Each one is endowed with Dragon Spirit
that reflect the re-emergence of Dragon Power to restore balance in the world. |
The Legend of the Dragon Egg
In the days when Dragons graced this planet,
the Mother of all Dragons gathered her seven children.
She warned of dark days ahead when they would need to hide away from the world.
She bestowed upon each Young One a supply of sacred eggs and bade them hide portions of their gifts in each. She sent them to secrete these throughout the world.
Her duty done, she settled into the warmth of the south ridge of her homeland to await the return of wonder and belief to the world. Millennia passed in hopeful dreaming. On a certain day in the quickening of spring, two sets of footsteps trod upon her land rousing her from her slumber. At last, a woman and a man of pure heart had found her lair! She bid them come and live gently on her land so she could teach them her Wise Ways |
As they grew in understanding and faith, she was well pleased.
Time came to make her presence known.
She inspired the Lady of the Land to portray the Spirit of her Young Ones.
She shared her secret of the Sacred Eggs.
She bade her make these too.
Within each egg she placed a portion of her Young One's gifts.
These worthy vessels she required to be sent out into the world as reminders
---of the magic of life,
---the understanding of kindness
---and the wisdom of forgiveness.
