Our newest garden lies tucked away to the west of our house. It is the only flat area around the house large enough to house a labyrinth of any size. We surrounded the labyrinths with shade loving plants that merrily wander off into the woods.
The challenge for this garden is the thin layer of soil overlaying the sand of the weeping bed. We had sod put down but within two years it had died. Obviously Mother Nature did not feel this was "natural" enough. The lawn has since been replaced with wood chips.

A Nordic Rune Riddle in the form of a gateway and fence lead into this garden. A comfortable bench invites you to sit down and reflect upon the answer to the riddle. Nearby a small fountain burbles gently. And all of this tranquility is visible from the Tree House.
