Spirit Catcher's Story
Since the beginning of time, people from all cultures
have honoured the Sun in special ways. The First Nations people held a
Sun Dance on the summer solstice to honour the Four Directions and the
Tree of Life. In this sacred ceremony which lasted four days,
Grandfather Sun was proclaimed and honoured as the source of love and
warmth for the Earth Mother.
This ancient ritual is a true test of endurance. The
First Nations people consider it a strong act of love that teaches us
how to walk in balance and let go of the parts of ourselves that are
centered in the personal 'I'. The Sun will help us to see the shadows
within our selves and let them go.
In the garden, we will learn the endurance that is
needed to reach our goal. Here the heat of the Sun can do great damage
if the plants have not received the balance of water and care that they
need to thrive. The way of the gardener is not an easy one and comes
through quiet observation.
The Chi
The energy of this Spirit Catcher connects us with the
sacred well spring of all that is. It brings us the courage to make
necessary changes in our garden as well as our life. It helps us go
beyond the suffering of the moment into the joy of achieving our
personal best.
Don’t hesitate ... do it now!
