A 'Summerfull' of Garden Workshops

Tom’s Cedar Workshop

Every Monday & Thursday
8:30-10:30

Not a carpenter?
This very popular course is geared to the novice and uses only simple hand tools. You will be taught the safe use of saws, drills, and loppers as you work on your project.

I will help you design and build a simple trellis, arbour, obelisk or garden bench. We begin by harvesting the cedar trees you will use in your project, so wear sensible footwear! After striping the bark and trimming the branches, we will proceed to form them into your design. Bring your own design or use one of mine.
Classes restricted in size.

$40- inclusive

 Dee’s Herbal Workshop

Every Friday 10-11:30

Got herbs growing in your garden? Wonder how to use them?

Every Friday, I welcome individuals or small groups to the garden to identify, taste and explore the habits and uses of common herbs.I offer you the benefits of a wealth of gardening and teaching skills acquired through a life time spent loving both gardening and cooking.

After we have explored and tasted the herbs, you will receive handouts which chart the various herbs and where and how to use them. You will also receive some of my favourite recipes and sample some dishes which I have prepared using the herbs we have examined.

$25- inclusive

Because we limit our numbers, please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Garden Variety Relaxation
 with Dee

I bring 40 years of practising yoga, spiritualism and “life on the land” to this course. In the seclusion of the Tea House, we explore a Down to Earth, “common sense”approach to relaxation.

$20- handout & refreshments included

Tom Ashman

Tom was schooled in engineering, trained as a carpenter and became a gardener by choice. His prime directive is to keep human impact on the environment to a minimum. After designing and building a passive solar home with a dry composting toilet, he and Dee turned to designing gardens that are environmentally sustainable.

Dee Ashman

Dee was trained as a teacher and took her first art lessons at age fourteen. She holds certificates in Reiki, Reflexology and BodyTalk. A lifetime of meditation, relaxation and yoga practices led her to a deep understanding of our need for spiritual and emotional ties to the earth.

Together they have been involved in everything from building a stone monument for the CAW to designing a volunteer "thank you" Artcard and Page Hugger for a literacy programme called Strong Start ©.
